In Gaza, water scarcity doesn't only mean thirst... it means illness, exhaustion, and the daily struggle to find a clean source for drinking, washing, or cooking. Public water networks are dilapidated, outages are continuous, and with each assault water sources are further damaged, increasing people's reliance on alternative solutions... which are not always safe. The Water Wells Project was born out of urgent need, to restore to the community a steady, clean, and available source. Because water is not a luxury, but an indispensable lifeline.
Why dig water wells? • Because areas deprived of potable water are increasing. • Because poor families cannot afford to buy water daily. • Because children are the first to pay the price of contaminated water, suffering skin and intestinal diseases. • Because wells ensure a permanent source of clean water in schools, health centers, and residential areas.
What does the project provide? • Drilling groundwater wells in areas of highest need. • Equipping wells with electric or manual pumps depending on power availability. • Connecting wells to distribution tanks to facilitate water access for the largest number of people. • Repairing and rehabilitating old wells that went out of service due to shelling or neglect.
Where do we work? • In villages and camps deprived of water. • In schools, health centers, and shelters. • In neighborhoods lacking water infrastructure.
